Why we are opening a studio rather than a foundation

Why we are opening a studio rather than a foundation

Why we are opening a studio rather than a foundation

Because our goal is not help as a service, but help with full inclusion into adult social life and the attainment of a new level of autonomy and safety.

1. We create jobs, not distribute help

The foundation model, as a rule:
— raises funds;
— redistributes support;
— helps, but rarely creates sustainable employment.

A studio is:
— a real workplace;
— regular tasks;
— a concrete result of labor;
— earnings, not an allowance.

Our goal is to provide the opportunity to work,
not to remain an object of help.

2. The studio changes a person’s status and organizes adult life through work

A foundation provides support around a person’s life.
Even in a careful form, a person remains a recipient of help.

A studio changes a person’s position:
— from dependence to participation;
— from supervision to independence;
— from external support to inclusion in work.

Our goal is a change of status and the realization of one’s own value through results.

3. A production environment provides sustainability

A foundation always depends on:
— grants;
— donors;
— funding cycles.

A studio:
— creates and sells a product in its own production environment;
— turns money into a working operational asset;
— when external conditions change, can adapt and restructure without a complete shutdown.

Our goal is sustainability, and it is important not only economically, but also psychologically — for all participants.

4. We are building a model that can be replicated

Our goal is to show:
— that inclusive production is possible;
— that autism and work are compatible;
— that self-realization is possible in a certain environment;
— that an inclusive workshop can be created with modest effort.

A studio/workshop is a working model that can be reproduced
in different fields and directions.

In short

We chose a studio in order to:
— provide the opportunity for work and self-realization;
— change status from dependence to independence;
— show how a scalable model of inclusive employment can be created with modest effort.
