Dear collaborators and friends,
It’s been a while since we’ve posted an update here, and we apologize, life ... But we have quite a bit to tell you.
First and foremost: Ibrahim and his family are safe. And the store is still open.
The past few weeks have been especially tough (they always are around early October, when the Israeli army resumes its indiscriminate bombing of the people of Gaza). We’ve been receiving updates from Ibrahim that we’d like to share with you here.
The store had to close for a few days because of the bombings. Some neighbors in the area were killed in the attacks.
We’ve been talking (texting) with Ibrahim every day, and these have been days of great despair.
He tells us that the store is getting by little by little, but faces a twofold problem: a lack of supplies (supplies remain restricted, the borders are closed, and sometimes food doesn’t get through…) and people’s lack of credit (Ibrahim tells us that he’s often selling on credit because many peopl e -who in turn also depend on other solidarity networks- don’t have the money to pay him, so he “extends credit” to them, just as we did in our postwar period...)
This has led us, as a support group, to start thinking about ways to ensure sustainability. We are exploring ways to establish social and circular economy networks, in which helping other families can also be a source of income for Ibrahim’s family; perhaps if we manage to create a consumer network, we’ll be able to make small businesses viable.
We’ve updated our FAQs and encourage you to read them.

We’ll continue working on this alongside Ibrahim and will keep you updated—be sure to follow us on social media (preferably Mastodon, though we’re also on Instagram), ask us questions, and collaborate however you can.
And now, we’d like to let you know that the rewards are ready and on their way via mail to those of you who requested them (to those who didn’t, a million thanks for contributing without expecting anything in return).
We’ve also set up a small symbolic space on the website for all participants.

It will still take a few days before we can begin shipping, but we’ll start next week.
We also hope to have a retail location soon where you can purchase the illustrations as another way to continue financially supporting the project and the lives of our friends in Gaza. If you are in Berlin, there are already a list of places that you can find at the FAQ page where to buy them. Please, share it, Christmas time is coming and this postcards a a perfect solidarity gift!
Once again, thank you, and let’s not stop talking about Palestine.
